The Dance's First Victim, or Three Deaths of Lord Beesbury

Book illustration for George Martin's "The Rise of the Dragon" (published by Penguin Random House). This is a slightly updated version.

The image depicts the various accounts of how Lyman Beesbury, Lord of Honeyholt, was killed. Grand Maester Orwyle says that Ser Otto Hightower had Lyman arrested and sent to the black cells, where he eventually died of a chill. Septon Eustace claims that Ser Criston Cole, the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, slit Lyman's throat with his dagger. Court fool Mushroom alleges that Criston instead tossed Lyman from the window onto the spikes of the Maegor's Holdfast's moat.
